Question Need help with touch up paint.

My truck got broken into through the passenger door. They used a screw driver or something underneath the door handle and scratched the paint all to hell.

Also when i first bought the L some kids in a bike were playing in the sidewalk and fell into it scrathing the hood about 3 inches long with their handle bars.

I can't take all this abouse to the truck anymore and have decided to paint it with the touch up paint that i bought in hope of restoring its natural beauty after some follow up work with zaino.

My question is, do i have to sand the paint to a smooth finish and then add the touch up? Seems like some of the paint around the scratches is wrinkled and about to come off.

do i leave it alone and just start coating? How long do i wait for more coats and how many do you suggest?

Things of this nature would help me out alot.

Thanks in advance.

Pictures would really help, however from your description it sounds like touch-up paint wouldn't do it. Best to contact a professional. Good luck.

thanks for the info. it does look like there are some small dents as well that will need to be massaged out by removing the door handle.
