Finally caught up with a vett.

Well today after having a tire swaped out I ran into a guy in a 01-02 corvett,He was infront of me at a green and when the light went so did he.I was right on him all the way to about 115 then I got besides him and.....Red light.Any-ways he was cool about it.First time I've ever ran with a vett.Im sure I could have stayed beside him or even passed him if we had the road to our dismay,But I'm also pretty sure he would have pulled from 130ish.

Frank, so you finally raced a vette, nice! Last week I also ran a new silver WRX STI with the 300 hp 300lbs torque going on the turnpike from a toll booth . He jumped first then I caught up to him and stayed with him up to about 120 then he started just to pull a little on me and then we had to slow for traffic. That car is pretty quick, but for a truck that weighs almost 5000lbs and bone stock except for a flat K&N filter, I'm pretty happy. BTW I think if I didn't have that big spoiler on the back I might have done a little better on the top end, that spoiler gives a lot of downforce but also a lot of drag anyways I love it. Happy to see you found a solution on your tires. See you next week at Towers.

thats weird,
im in the 400/500 club and i barley pass my friends blue STI (Dynos 324/316 AWD HP) around 75-80 and finally pull a car or two on him by 100-110

He cuts like 1.5-1.6 60 fts all day wearing four NT555r drags
and i have NT 555rs drags (305/35/ZR18s) W/ 1.7-1.8 60s

although my stiff bell tec 3/5 drop isnt helping much either

can you say Ketchup

ive witnessed him eat a Z06 through 3rd with me in the car

all im saying is AWD can hurt your pride

be carefuland chose your victims wisely

I too have had similar if not better results against a Vette. My truck is bone stock except for the AIRAID and once before I ran an 03 vette convertible on a long stretch of road from a red light up to around 110 and it was dead, dead even. I am sure he would have started to pull on me if we continued but for some reason, I think that the 03's are a littler faster than the other years......stock vs stock. All Lightnings I have driven just chirp chirp chirp the tires from a dead stop when you put the pedal to the the floor. Mine just blows the tires away.

I'm going to have to agree with you because when I had my old 02 engine before I replaced it with an 04 I used to chirp a couple of times from a dead start, but now with a new engine all stock I can chirp the tires from 20 mph, definately a lot more torque I guess, and if I slam it from start forget it, and it even pulls harder on top end, even with my huge spoiler on back.
