Pulley ?s

I need some advice from some of you guys! I have aquired a Pulley which was suppose to be a 4lber put turned out to be an 8lber. My question is do you guys think this is to much for my application? The build up is on a 99 4x4 F-150 with a 01 eaton setup. this will be my daily driver. First) The motor is currently being built so that is not a problem it is my tranny i'm worried about. I have a race build but that is alot of boost. Second) What about belt slip does that become a problem with an 8lber? now in addition i am going to have the eaton apten ported and am installing crower stage II cams along with Long Tubes and exhaust to match. I have read, and been told by many that those three will lower my boost #s. Is this true and therefore the 8lber would work out ok? as a note i will NOT drag this thing, but i can't deny i will go WOT every once and again . Sorry long winded but i could really use your knowledge some of you guys have been through every pulley out there!! And if you suggest it is too big i'll have to see about TRADING it !

I wouldn't start with a 8lbr, especially since I hear no talk
of an Intercooler ? Even with a factory designed I/C, the Eaton
becomes a Heaton at 8lbs, (and usually works against you)

Without a good designed I/C set up,
you'd loose waaaaaaay more than you would gain from it.

4 or 6 is more than enough, especially since your not building a race truck

Thats my opinion, and I'm sticking to it

Thanks Rob now i'll have to start looking for a smaller pulley anyone wanna trade!! Oh and intercooler will the upgraded. Since i don't have anything to start with i figured why not go all out first. I have planned on getting an aftermarket heat exchanger (Afco) or the like and a supercooler reservoir. 170 deg thermostat and dual electric fans. with spal fans on the heat exchanger. anyway thanks Rob!!

I want to see some pictures when the truck is done. Sounds like a wild project.
