Recipe for finding exhaust leaks
Here are the ingredients to finding assorted exhaust leaks.
First obtain the following items:
One or more Car funnatics.
One bottle of pepto bismol.
Several alchoholic beverages.
One large handfull of rags.
One book of matches or small butane lighter.
One 25 watt lightbulb in well used troublelight. (flashlight works)
One grease stained mechanics creeper.
One or more aluminum lounge chairs.
One CD of your choice in a good sound system.
One dark garage or moonless night away from streetlights.
One or more nice fat fresh cigar's of your choice.

.
.
Now that you have the setting and the materials and are at home or in a safe place with a designated driver.....
Take a couple good long swigs of your favorite beverage.
Crank up the tunes.
Be sure you are in a well ventilated area.
Now light up the cigar and get her smoking real good.
Get comfortable on the creeper and start puffing that smoke up the exhaust from the rear.
Take your time, you don't have to hyperventelate or anything. You can expect to get a cheap buzz. Just hold the rags over the exhaust between puffs.
Before you know it the smoke will migrate to the leak and you should be able to find it. If you have compressed air you can give it a few shots to speed things up.
Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you might just start the truck and have someone hold the rags over the exhaust to create enough backpressure and cafefully listen for the leaks.
Sometimes there smaller leaks and hard to find.
If your carefull you can take something like 1/4 inch fuel line or rubber vacum tubing and while holding one end near your ear drag the other end around the suspected area's. Be sure and point it away from the air flow coming off the fan.
You will hear all sorts of things but you can zero in on an exhaust leak pretty quick and easy.
I am sure you guys and gals can get creative with this and come up with some better variations.
I have used these ideas in the past with varring degrees of success.
Hope it helps.
Most of all have fun and enjoy!!

LOL
Righto mate, I got my computer set up so I can see out the front window and earlier the Brown truck came by and kept going.
I leaped from my chair and chased him down the street. Huffing and puffing. I asked if he had a box that said Bassani.
Not!
Maybe tomorrow, unitl then I guess I just have exhaust on my mind.
Seen a few comments from folks who were hearing exhaust leaks and didn't know how to go about finding them. Hence the long post.... hehehe
