I really want a new lightning because I don't want other peoples problems (I am sick of used) but the Ford dealer near me has a used 02 silver with 17000 on it asking 24999. The dealer said they will come down a little too. It has a hard cover from ARE. Is this a good deal or should I go for new?

 

If its stock its still under warranty......... If not ask if the dealer is going to warranty it..........

You could get an '03 for pretty close to that price.

 

It's just my opinion, but if I could afford a new one, I would buy it. This is how you avoid "other people's problems". This is especially logical when buying a performance vehicle. The prices aren't that far apart.

 

He said the warranty was for 60 days or 3000 miles. Does that sound right? I can buy extended warranties.

Edmunds says for this car with the tonneau cover it is 26,300 and a certified one is 27000.

THey have 5 new ones, how much could I bring those down to? THe sticker says around 33k.

 

You can buy my 03 with or without mods

 

Invoice is $29,190 plus destination $795. I would think just over $30k would be close

 

so I can get the 04 for 30K and this 02 with 17000 for probably 23500. So I would have to save an extra 6500 for the 04.

 

I would work on him or try another dealer for 04 that will be last before new body style in 05-06 plus you will have better heads with more sparkplug threads. imho used is not a good move wait for good deal on 04 w/fullwarranty.

 

What do you think I can get the 04 down to. I know the next one will be an 06 but can I get it down past the invoice which is 29k or so?
