The Cervani's won't stay up with the stock
pistons ... The AAD hood does ... It seems
lighter than the stock one, but I didn't weigh
them ....

 

I don't remember any problems with our hood. We had it for about 2 years I think & I know it has been up for quite a bit in that time between working on it & cooling it down after racing.

The pistons have no problem holding the hood up (now, because their new) but they won't lift the hood. Now I need to help the hood all the way up and it will stay.

 

the pin on hood is about 5 pounds lighter than the stock hood plus you can remove all the hinges ans the heavyass hood release. we ended up using the button style dzus fasteners.

the stock struts hold up the cervini's fine. you just have to push it open, its not like the stock where you lift it a little and it'll raise up the rest of the way itself, but it will stay up there. never had any problems with mine and had it for 6 months. and the hood was always open between me cleaning and working on the truck and shows all the time. my keystone hood weighs about the same and is slightly more front end heavy compared to the cervini's and that still stays open fine as well.

 

i just had my hood off last weekend,

i swear you could spin it like a basketball on your finger, they are LIGHT!!
