Anybody know a cheap version of JLP's Filter Cover

I have a JLP ram air kit and when I checked my air filter it has all kinds of sand in the gaps, and I just cleaned it about 3 months ago. I live in Missouri, and there are no beaches around, so this is unacceptable to me. I don't really want to pay $25.00 plus shipping, probably another $5.00 at least, for JLP's high flow filter cover if someone has come up with something just as good for cheaper that I can do myself. I was thinking something like pantyhose to cover it or something like that maybe . Let me know if anybody has done something like this.

Thanx,
Bill

Bill I'm amazed of the crap that comes out of mine when I clean it,
Leaves, sand, even small rocks. You should have seen the crap in there on my first set up that used a full 4" inlet hose,
(now I use 3")

Panty hose sounds good, got any extra for me J/K Bro,

From: Colorado,
How can you spend all this money on this type of toy and do all the mods. Then get cheap on the fresh air which is the life of your engine.

Panty hose, now theres some Bling, Bling.

The outwears refered to are a very good quality product. Been usning them for years on my sandrail out in the dunes.

You can get them in different colors. They wash and clean up great. Will increase the intervals in cleaning your cone filter.

You could probably go to your local fabric store and get the same thing or something similar. But the fit and stitching with glued seams will be hard to match. Not to mention your time and frustration.

They may not ding you on shipping just ask them to stuff it into a insulated envolope and send it regular mail.

I get a bunch of crap in my drop in K&N with the stock box. I just pull it out and tap it on the ground a few times every few thousand miles. *****load of trash, sand, leaves and rocks come out.

Thanx for all of the crap guys just what I needed for a ggod laugh after a crappy night in school to bring my spirits back up, I appreciate everybody's opinion, I just figured that with all of the intelligent people on this site that someone had done something like this in sacrafice of bling to save a buck or twenty, not that you would see much under the cover of the air box lid anyway. With the bulk quantities that the tuners buy they are probably making oh about 1000% profit on something that looked to me like heavy duty pantyhose.

Thanx again,
Bill
