Problems with the Lightning
Hey guys I just bought a 2000 Ford Lightning about 2 months ago. It's been great, been givin it hell and it's taken it all. The problem is now whenever I am under heavy acceleration, or I am flooring it the truck misses and seems to lose a lot of power. I am not sure when the last time it was tuned up, i have put 3k miles on it myself, it has 42k miles on it now. I have put an exhaust and a cold air intake in but the problem hasn't occurred until recently so I don't believe that is the issue. I do have a rattling Catylitic Converter so I'm not sure if that may cause an issue. Is there anything you guys can think of to have checked out or anything similar that has happened to any of you?
A clogged cat will surly put you down on power.
A rattling cat not always, but you speak of "a miss",
that may be a diff issue ?
If you have any seasoned L Brothers around you,
I'd hook up with them, give um a ride and get their take on it.
Good Luck....
Of course if you have a wrrnty, and no Mods,
I'd say you have no choice but to bring it in

you should check/change your spark plugs, or if you still have the origional coil packs they may be going.
