damn Gator, I was starting to think that you might have fallen off the face of the earth or something???

welcome back... I hope you are doing well.

as far as an update on the engine, I don't have much. I've been busy every weekend since the darn thing went south.

I drove it home from NY on the weekend it failed.

following weekend had a family reunion

following weekend was Fun Ford Virginia

following weekend was 4th of July

and THIS weekend I'll be vacationing with my family and attending sister's wedding on the Outer Banks of N.C.

I did drive the truck yesterday. just a few short miles home from the dealership.

the truck runs fine at idle

runs like chit at part throttle or under light/moderate load

from memory of the drive home from ny, runs fine (except for the smoke from the exhaust) at WOT.

again, engine noise whatsoever.

BUT, the engine does occasionally backfire through the exhaust during part throttle situations.

not the loud gunshot kind of backfire, but kind of "internally".

anyway, it sounds stupid me trying to describe it.

but long story short is that the truck is still screwed up, and I haven't had time to investigate.

HOPEFULLY, I'll be pulling the motor out NEXT weekend starting on Friday night, but we'll see.

later,
chris

thats just tears at my guts reading this. Iam sure I speak for most of the members here, as "we" where with you thru out the build up.

Everything is cool with me. Its just that my house has been under construction for 2 yrs. Spending money on the truck, slowed things down a bunch, plus Iam a lazy sob.
So a couple months ago, I put my azz in gear.
I just put the living room and computer room on the front burner. Finished all the wiring, separate isolated ground for the computer (not bad for a welder, huh?), hung the sheetrock and painted. Put up the high hat lights over the computer desk and hung the ceiling fans. Still debating on the hardwood floors, which brand and color. Going out to buy a "few" feet of oak, for the trim. At $3 @ ft, it will only be a few ft tonight, as I need 320'

Plus been working OT out the butt. Every saturday for the past two months and a few sundays thrown in. Got alot of 10/12 hr days during the week.

Plus I got a few new mods in store for my truck too.
Take care, my brother.
Hoping for an easy and inexpensive fix.

Bruce

Here we go again

Chris,
This time of year is tuff to get anything done, I've been peddling backwards for weeks myself. I figured since there was no new post, nothing was found yet
Hoping it's something simple Chris
