I screwed up, Predator, need advice

Well, I am dealing with my tuner on this, but he's busy and may not get back to me for awhile, so I figured I'd throw this out there.

1) Got Predator, read stock tune with old chip installed. Didn't think it would matter, but tuner says it does. Need non-chipped PCM.

2) Removed chip.

3) Tuner never heard of someone so dumb, and needs to consult Diablosport.

4) I get bright idea that being that I haven't written to the truck yet, that I could just reflash the Predator with it's stock software. This would return the entire unit to brand new. Flash worked.

5) Go to truck and go about procedure to read original stock file. Apparently Predator still knew it had a stock file and when I selected Performance Tune, it wrote it to the stock computer.

So, what I have is a truck that isn't chipped but has a Diablo Sport Performance Tune installed on it. I have a Predator with a stock file that was read with 'chip in'.

My guess is that I'm gonna have to limp to dealership, have them reflash my PCM with stock file, and then limp home, and then return Predator to Diablosport for them to reset.

Does anybody have any input other than 'don't do what you just did'.?

You won't (probably) need to send in the Predator. Your stock tune is stored in two areas, one easy to screw up (like what happened) and one is a more secure area. Call Diablo tech support, they can talk you through getting the stock tune back. Wth this, MAYBE, you will be able to laod the stock (FORD) tune back in the PCM. Then you should be able to load the Predator perf tune in the PCM.

Your chip, is another matter. It will have to go back to the tuner. Don't even think about using it as is.

You should have left the chip in and uploaded the stock tune back to the PCM since that's the way it was when you downloaded it.

You could have probably started over from that point and been ok.

i still have the stock 'chip-in' file in the predator.... i could put the chip back in and restore the stock tune. do you think this would fix it? someone missed something.. i 'did not' write the Performance Tune with the chip in, it was out at the time.
