2004 "L" Couple of problems......

Slight pull to the right. I've seen some threads where this seems to be a common problem. Does the dealer get it right if you take it back in?

Also (I know this seems strange) but when the wipers are on, the driver's side wiper arm has an annoying click. The noise is clearly audible inside the vehicle, and when standing outside, it seems that there is something not-right below the plastic cowl cover. The passenger side does not do this. Anybody else ever experience this?

I am glad my truck was built on a Wednesday, no major problems yet…

I have an inexpensive camber/caster gage and could tell my 2003 was not well alighned so I took it back to Ford. They checked it and found camber was on the ragged edge of spec. but the toe-in was out of spec. Based on that they did a complete alighnment and installed camber bolts to boot under warranty. Can't say that I notice it driving any straighter but tires should last a little longer.

Keep an eye on the passenger carpet for water from the AC. Seems the 2003 models are bad about leaking. Not sure but I think they put a shield over the drain outlet in 2003 where it comes through the firewall and somehow it allows water to run back to the firewall and through the gasket material to the interior - heck of a pain in the summer.

I have the same two problems on my 2004. The clicking and the pull. For the pull I brought it into the F150 plant I work at and had the wheel alignment guy fix it. The camber was vice versa for the sides as one side has more camber than the other because of roads being not level. Comes from the factory like this. Anyways had this fixed. Now to the damn clicking.

My 04 did the same thing and after taking it in three times they put the camber kit in and solved the problem.

Well, at least misery loves company. Now, I have to decide when to take it in, and if I want to stay there while they fix it. Any idea how long they will want to keep the truck? I also have Mods, so I wonder if they'll "test" drive it.

Mine had the pull too. This comes from them strapping them down on the carrier so tightly. I was told by my dealer to put about 500-700 miles on the truck to get some tire wear, then bring it back in and they would realign in for nothing. Haven't had any problems since!
