So a buddy at work kept telling me his truck is going to be faster than mine. And today he rolls to work in a brand new silver SRT-10. It's big, bulky, and freaking bad-arsed. The interior is sooo nice. The sound system is killer... But, for about $20k more than a Lightning, I guess it should be.

They're alright looking, but I would never spend that much $$$$ on a truck.

Really...that's Vette money

And at these gas prices, 28 mpg on the highway is looking better and better. Once the C6's roll out, the C5's will come down in price.

I don't like the look of the SRT Ram, It look sto much like a big rig for me. I also dont like the spoiler and the exhaust out the right rear. Good to have some competition though.

I'll take pictures of it next to my truck (it's really big) as soon as I wash mine, and can find someone here with a digital camera.
What's sad, though, is that he'll probably never take it to a track. I'm keeping on him, though, and when I finally get a head-to-head race of my stock L against his stock SRT, I'll post them here.

We've seen that already - with a skilled driver, the SRT wins.

How about getting him out to a real track (one that has turns and such) and see who wins there. Now that would be interesting.

tell him to check this out, the other SRT owners are, here's his post:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

guys-i pulled my tranny this wekend to find out why the slave cylinder was toast & to install a new centerforce clutch kit & aluminum flywheel. i am not an engineer for Tremec transmissions, but i should be! the stock slave cylinder is a piece of **** plastic hunk of junk. the entire mechanism save but the throw out bearing endplate is ALL PLASTIC!. i have ordered one for a GTS viper which is all cast alloy. why in the f&*k would they put a plastic slave cylinder in ANYTHING not to mention a heavy truck is beyond me.
if youre haveing clutch trouble, dont even bother to bleed it. it is the fisher-price slave cylinder. make them replace it with a viper slave. EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM EVENTUALLY

I don't know if I'd consider the SRT-10 a heavy truck or not, seeing as it will never do ANYTHING that a truck can do.

I just am not big on them.

Am I the only one who hates black door handles on cars/trucks? For $52,000, I would think they wouldn't have cheap *** black door handles. Another reason I like my truck better.
