Question Ice Pack In Stock Air Box?

If I placed an ice pack in my stock air box would my horse power increase. I live in S. Florida and 90 degree temps are killing my HP, anyone ever tried this?

putting anything in the stock air box besides a filter would most likley hinder your air flow and hurt hp.
try iceing the intake, that seems to be a trick a lot of people use

just my .03

I doubt you would see a difference. The air would be flowing too fast and would not cool down.

I would start with cooling mods such as a 160 stat, Better water pump, Fans etc.

well the 160 degree stat yes, but the fan and water pump are hp mods not cooling mods, however you could get a power cooler, they work well in hot weather, or a bigger heat exchanger, or even a shot of the old giggle juice, however just by reading the post, my first asumption is this guy is looking for a inexpensive way to cool the incomming air charge, which leads me to belive he aint got the money to just run out and buy any mod, so the only thing i could come up with was iceing the intake, which a lot of people do. other than that you have to start saving thoes pennies for some mods.

all that will do for you is make the computer think its colder out side than it is. Your air temp is measure coming in. This would make your trucks computer think its winter time again.

With a chiller box it cools the air going in to the intake after it has been measured for temp. Then the new cold air works with you from that point.
