It seems like all the die hard drag racers and bracket racing guys that run 8's and/or quicker they all run a single turbo or a F1 procharger setup.

Why don't you guys do that? I think a turbo or procharger would heat the air less then a roots type blower and you guys could run more timing at the same boost levels and run quicker.

or am I wrong?

well its a completly different powerband for one thing. i have a paxton novi 2000 renagade spec. blower. unfortunatly i wont be upping the boost to much more until i build a short block to back it up.

right now i'm making 468 hp with only 13 lbs. of boost. but the power band increases as rpm's do. unlike the eaton or kb were the tq peaks early and gets our heavy azz trucks moving.

i had to get my convertor restalled since it was bogging real bad in the shifts.

It's not a lightning if it doesn't whine!

No offense to you few that lack positive displacement superchargers...

Your still gonna make comparable TQ but you will make more HP then the roots. HP is what gets you the times.

I'd rather have more HP and better gearing then more TQ and improper gearing

same gear 40 more hp 48 less torque at the peaks i'm a full second slower than i was with the eaton. 60 fts are down 4 tenths as well.

i will be upping the boost in the next few weeks. so we will see then.

also may switch to a 4.10 gear from the 3.55's

Well like I said... more HP and better gearing. 3.55's is not good gearing. 4.10's will support you to high 10's on 28" slicks crossing the traps ~ 6krpm

what type of innercooler are you running?

i personally think that streetability is the main thing for most people. Just an theory but i think most people like the gobs of low end torque provided by the roots and twinscrews out there. And of course the tuners could strip their trucks and put huge displacement engines with twin turbos in their trucks and run 6's all day. But the problem with that is your market to sell to the community lowers dramatically. JMO.
