Talking New worst time!!!

22.24 @ 45.6 hahahaha!!!

Tried running on my nittos tonight. Forget it. First Pass was a 1.94 60. Ran a 12.83 @ 107.4. Didn't beat my previous best but was my best mph yet.

Second pass was a 13.6 @ 84. Tires went up in smoke on the 1-2 shift. Had to lift right off.

Third pass was a 12.99 @ 106.4. Hook for a split second and spun through the 60........has to lift.

Last pass.......22.24 @ 45.6. Spun right off the line, lifted.......got back on it still spun........shut it down and cruzed down the track. Got a good chance to check out the scenery!!!

I have officially given up on my truck. I don't know what to do to get it to hook. Let my old man take it down and he managed a 2.0 60 lifting. He said it just feels like the truck doesn't have a chance for the tires to catch, it just spins them up instantly.

F1's are a joke, Nittos are no better, Hoosier QTP's will get me low 1.9x's.......... There's no way that 26" ET streets are gonna work.........it's gotta be the 355 gears. It feels just like the truck is on ice.

Don........Jamie.........i need you guys to drive my truck and tell me what's going on cause I quit!!!!

Bummer Bro, this had been an ongoing prob for you I know

Have you tried VERY low air pressure (like 18-22)
Have you tried leaving from a dead idle and just stapping it
I'm sure you've tried everything.....
Maybe it's time to stop killing yourself and just go get a used set of 28x10 Hoosiers

Still making some great passes though Bro, CONGRATS

Actually the 26 inch ET Streets on a truck with 3.55 gears is very very close to a truck running Nitto./F1s and having 3.90 gears. Also your ET and MPH seem to be running close to what each should be.
1 last thought, you say your truck wont hook, is it possible your running at a poorly prepped track. You can have the best suspension and best tires but that isnt going to help on a unprepped track.

If you think 26" ET streets don't work? Then check out the timeslip and vid on my web page! They DO work!

I'm kinda like you. F1s just don't hook. But it reality they are very good tires. We just make too much torque down low in the rpms.

Best 1/4 I ever got was hot lapping last month at the MiLoc event. The power was down as compared to when it's had a chance to cool. I managed to spin completely through 1st. And it was skating around like I was on a damp road. Had to pedal it like a mad man. Still managed a 12.84. It's aaaaaalllll in the driver...

I'm running 26" ET Streets and am pulling 1.7x 60's ...

I think it might be the track prep ... Or your launch
sequence....

I drop it at 1200 ...

yup

I've triad EVERYTHING aside from running the e/t streets. But if i'm lighting up 28".....how in the hell are 26" gonna hook any better. Like I said my father took it, he's running an 03 with the same mods basically, was running low 1.8x 60's, took my truck and only managed a 2.0x pedaling it. He said it's like the tires just spin.

Now, track prep last night was not the best but this has been an on going issue for over a year.

I'm thinking two things.....going to the 373's, and going with the adjustable rear shocks.

It's just really frustrating to spend the money you spend and dyno the numbers of dynod.......and not hook to the track. And yes, i've run on prepped tracks. Saturday test and tune days the track is prepped pretty decent-to really good because they usually run their racing programs. I've run durring FFW events where the track is PREPPED!!!!. Best was a 1.90.

Here's my latest hypothesis.......

The street tires....f1's and nittos are just getting overpowered or something because it spins right off the line.....even if i lift and ease back in.

Maybe the hoosiers are grabbeing but becuase of the 355's.....i'm bogging a bit and that's why i'm only running 1.90's??

Maybe with the truck grabs but becuase of the stock shocks once the weight transfers back and hooks, the *** end is springing back up and loosening the rear from the track??

I don't know. Thank god i'm not racing for a living cause i'd be ****ed!!!!!

Signed.....desperately seeking traction

i have beltech 2" inch shackles,
caltrack adjust. trac bars,
poly bushings and adjustible sway bar ends,
with 305/45/ZR18 nitto drags

How much fuel are you running in the tank? My truck with a 3#er still has the same problems you have. my best 1/4 with stock ecu program was a 13.36@102mph 1.95 60' try running with 3/4 or full tank of gas I could accually power brake before it would break loose where if I did that with a 1/4 or less it would just go up in smoke. I know running with a full or 3/4 of a tank adds weight but it is on the rear tires where we need it.My truck with me in it and 3/4 tank of gas weighs in at 4870lbs. Try it and see what it does.
