Newbie in Tallahassee

Hey all,

I've been viewing the Forum for a few weeks and finally took time to register. I've been a Ford guy all my life (3 Mustangs) and just picked up my first Ford Truck this weekend. I think this is a great info site for Ford trucks, and Ive already picked up a bunch from many of your posts. I look forward to being a member of this site for a long time.

Any members in Tallahassee, FL ?

Welcome to FL

How far are you from Pensacola? A couple of hours? There's a good group of Lightnings here and tons of car shows!

Thanks, guys. I just picked up a mint 02 L, Bright Red, bone stock with 4,300 miles on the clock this past weekend. Still has a warranty for another 20 months, but really want to know what 12's in a truck feels like, so I may say to hell with the warranty. Right now, just getting to know her and get a feel for things. Im amazed at how well these things handle for a truck. Incredible.

I'm here in Tallahassee. I do not know of any other lightning owners but there are a few other HD owners in town...about 2-3

Yeah, I've seen 2 different HD's (one parks in my same lot at work but dont know who drives it) and one of those silly *** yellow "Boss" trucks. That guy in the BigBirdMobile actually cut me off 2 weeks ago on Monroe Street. I've only seen one other L owner on the road here, ot was a 99-00 / black, but could have just been 'visiting'.

Dunno about where you are, but in Pensacola there is a lot of Lightnings.

A lot of them can be found @ gulfcoastmuscle.org

I roam the streets of tallahassee but not in a lightning. i have a 97 f150 but my street car is an 89 nissan 240sx with a turbo 2.0 liter imported from japan. We have a very active group of automobile enthusiasts in tallahassee. there are plenty of nice lightnings but none of them are very heavily modded.

We are very active and attend test and tune sessions all the time in valdosta. matter of fact we went this past friday night. had about 10 cars there. You should join us for some drag racing fun.

events are usually organized on the local forum...

Tallahassee Imports

The reason i'm in a lightning forum is I love all fast vehicles, domestic or import. The lightning will be my next "truck." Of course the wheels have to fall off of my existing truck first

The track is, in a word, AWESOME! The concrete launch pad proceeds over halfway down the track then asphalt. The facilities are second to none and the parking lot is asphalt. No more jacking the car up on the grass! It is the best track I've been to.

and best of all, it hooks like crazy. I pulled a 1.448 60ft in my car last friday. That was with slicks but my car only makes 244.2 whp.

Its 96 miles from Tallahassee and takes just about 1.5 hours to get there. maybe a little less if you didn't stop for some cheap georgia gas.

Takes longer to get to albany. We've been going on a regular basis. There are a few Ls out there. one i saw was running 12.20s. There was an '03 Cobra than went 11.7.
