I was watching part of the NASCAR race last night and they had a Lightning commercial come on? It was GREAT commercial, wish I had it on tape. Maybe some one got it on vid and can convert it? Also, I thought the Dodge Ram SRT-10 was the new pace truck?

 

That would be sweet!!! Someone find that commercial, never heard of a Lightning commercial...or an SVT one.

About the pace vehicle...
That's up to the track. If a certain brand is aligned with that track, they pace with that brand vehicle.
Last year at Dover they used a Lightning Pace Truck on Friday for the CTS race.


Saturday's BGN and Sunday's Cup race were paced by a Taurus.

I'll see what happens this weekend.

I think it's the Ford F150 in general that is the "Official Truck of Nascar" so I guess the Lightning fits in that category. It was a nice surprise to finally see a Lightning in a commercial!!

Eventhough they can claim to be the Official X of Nascar, the makes of pace cars/trucks varies each race probably dependant upon the individual track and race sponsors.

Looks nice !! It certainly doesn't take much to make it look the part. It already looks like a Hot Wheel.

 

They have been running that as the pace truck for the Craftsman truck Series since I think they built it in 99. I have been going to IRP since like 97 til my first time not last year, and its been the pace truck. (short of 97 and 98)

It also paced our KS speedwa truck race every time too.

Every now and then like someone said, if the track has an affiliation with another Car maker, you will see a Chevy or Dodge, but I am pretty sure the L paces 80% of the races.

At the small tracks it usually leads the most laps due to wrecks..lol


My friends get quite annoyed everytime there is a caution and I yell LOOK THE LIGHTNING IS OUT FRONT!!!

 

It looks as if they had the fastest color as the pace car!

I saw that commercial too. If I remember correctly it was a silver L. It was a short blurp but showed a smoking burnout and then a donut. Got me so pumped I went out and wash and waxed the truck. hopefully someone will come through with the vid.
