Help with these trouble codes please (Tuners and Techs)

Hi Guys cruising around with the guys last night I leaned into the throttle and my check engine. So I put the odometer in test mode and found these DTC codes. 9202 and 5284.

I did a search and found

9202 = Fuel sender open circuit
and
5284 = Oil Pressure Switch Failure

My questions are as follows. Can the chip trip these codes? I am asking becaue I dont want to take it in and find out they wont cover it.

The only thing I could think of with respect to code 9202 is my fuel door was not tight but I went and checked it and its fine.

Any help from the pros would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jason

Do a search -- EVERY Lightning has the second code according to the odometer method...

Not sure about the first but the second is VERY common...Doesnt come up when using NGS scanner..

Tech explanation here

More examples of others with same issue here ...

Silver_2000_!, Thanks.

I actually was coming on to give an update with regards to 5284. I did some more searching and found that if I go into test mode with the truck not running then I will get that code. Sure enough I went into test mode with the truck running and 5284 went away.

So I guess my only problem is 9202

PS, in my search I had come across all those links you gave me up top but they don't really say ,uch that helps me

Thank for the help though.

Whenever I see these "odometer diag" posts, it makes me want to jab myself in the eye with a soldering iron.

THE ODOMETER TEST MODE IS BOGUS!!!

All it does is a self test on itself (the HEC module). It does not test the PCM or any other modules.

You need to put a scan tool on there and pull the code from the PCM.

Sal I took my chip out and in doing so disconnected the battery. So now the SES light is off. WOuld the trouble code still be stored om the PCM so that if it was scanned I can see what the problem was?

I knew the Odom Diag sucks but its all I had you big bully!

If you disconnected the battery, it's most likely gone. If you want to see what it was, you'll need to make it happen again, then have it checked. Hope this helps.

This post by kidtriton explains the same thing that Sal did - THe codes are BOGUS and only serve to troubleshoot the cluster

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...er+open+circuit

that plus the fact the everyone who tries the odo code thing has the same codes should have been a give away that something was up....
