Dynos and Smart PCM's

The lightning's still a relatively 'dumb' ECU, thank goodness. Look at what the BMW guys have to contend with. My Subaru plays similar tricks as well. Wonder if the 06 Lightning is going to be as easy to 'chip'.

yes drive by wire is bleh.

In anycase, i think our pcms do this sort of thing while stock (although i doubt it goes down to 9.5:1) but once you chip it, all those adjustments are tossed out the window. As always it just depends how the manufacturer does things. Seems like ford knows what the deal is and they know people are going to mod their vehicles, and the leave something on there that lets that become accomplished.
