It's here and you need this Wideband!

The product that EVERYONE needs is FINALLY here. The Australian company is now offering complete units. The best thing is the price its about $300 US to get it insured and shipped to your door. At that point the only thing you need is the O2 sensor off of a Civic VX.

You no longer have to depend on your inaccurate a/f gauge or datalogger. With this you will be able to read your exact a/f ratio at all times.

I know a lot of guy's using this product on other vehicles! Might be worth it for us too!

This post sounded like an advertisement.

I would rather spend the extra scratch and get the Dynojet unit which looks much better.

Grr...

Had a long response that got lost:

Short version:
The tech edge units are equal to the dynojet units (they both use the same sensor)

The prebuilt TE unit isn't worth it since the dynojet is from america and comes with a standard analog gauge.

the KIT TE unit is great. $250 US to your door (including sensor) You just need to know how to use a soldering iron.

For $500 I got datalogging and wideband with a digital readout for BOTH banks of cylinders and replaced my standard O2 sensors (which the dynojet can't do).

The Dynojet unit from Sal (PSP) is a better buy. The Honda 02 senor is going to cost you over $100....and you have a USA company backing it up.

Price

The TechEdge sensor is under $200 US delivered. You can use the WV sensor which is about $50 mail order. That's where I got my $250 price.

$250 vs. even the discounted $450 is a big difference for the same thing... (only difference being analog vs digital gauge)

How did you replace your stock O2 sensors. Are your wideband o2's hooked to your ECM, or do you have a seperate ecm.

The dynojet does have a digital readout, a analog sweep gauge, and can datalog.

I'm not sure about being able to read both banks, thats interesting. I guess for the dynojet to read both banks you would need a switch but it couldn't do both at the same time. Or you could buy a seperate controller. Have you compared the 2 banks are there any differences between the 2?

I take it back. Apparently this kit uses the new Bosch O2 sensor, which is an OEM part on VW's.

The new Bosch LSU4 is a windfall because it is OEM equipment on some VW's and can be had for between 30 and 60 dollars. Previously your options were generally the NGK L1H1(Honda) and the older BOSCH UEGO sensor (LSM-11) which are considerably more expensive.

Are the Bosch VW sensors the newer planar type ? Are they heated ?Are the stock L sensors the older thimble type? If so the planar sensors are supposed to be more acurate and heat up much faster...also they work well with newer ECM tables in the Fords...

I have used one of those exact boxes for prototyping at work.... definitely a low budget design. Probably works fine, but 300$? plus you still need to buy a sensor? Not worth it IMO... I would rather spend the money on an ECU reflash... then the AF isnt an issue.
