A Gen 1 to go with my Gen 2 ..pics--->

I came across a deal I could not pass up. I have been eyeballing this truck in the autotrader since friday. So Sunday I went to look at it and went ahead and bought it ......DIRT CHEAP.
I have two other beater trucks, but I have always wanted a first generation Lightning in good shape but it had to be rough enough to not be scared to haul dirt or gravel and stuff.
Well I lucked up and found exactly what I was looking for. This one is a little rough around the edges but its perfect for what I want.
The largest problem with this truck (and probably the reason I was able to get it for a song) is that the rear differential is junk. It pops and snaps when you turn and sometimes when going foward.
I have decided that the spiders in the diff. are broken and who knows what else. I have already ordered a new Eaton diff. for it this week.
I drove it home 102 miles from Alpharetta, GA yesterday and made it even on bald rear tires showing metal and cords in the centers.

Everthing else on the truck works perfect, the air is freezing cold and all the bells and whistles work. The truck just needs a little TLC.

I have already had a friend donate a roll pan to me and have removed the hideous hitch setup :tu:

And I have a fresh set of Factory Gen 1 Wheels with new tires ready to install from my other beater truck!!!

Here is a list of the specs for it so far........

By the way......I paid $2900 for this truck

Man that's a lot of miles on that truck. Looks pretty decent in the picture though. Good luck and hope it meets all your expectations. Sounds like it will make for a fun project truck.
