Anyone have this happen

I installed a oil seperator and my oil cap blew off, had to order another cuz i have no idea when or where it blew off. it was$9 bucks from the dealer, has anyone else had this happen to them. I like the fact that the oil sep is catching oil but i dont like the fact that i lost my cap.

I've had two different oil seperators on my L and that never has happened and I've never seen another post mentioning that. Something is wrong! Either the cap was defective or put on loose or there's too much crankcase oressure.

Check out your install on the o/s and if it happens again take the o/s off until you can get some local help.

Were you the last one to install your oil cap? They seal well and have large threads; it sounds unlikely.

Unless your valvecover was extremly "pressurized", it's unlikely your oil cap "blew off". I'd be suspicious that whoever put it on last, didn't "screw" it in and it just "vibrated" out.

Yea i think maybe the cap wasnt put on all the way. I am pretty positive the o/s is installed correctly. I have the arrow pointing towards the blower, i have the two fitting on the o/s and they both plug in its too simple to screw up, so i am thinking that the cap wasnt on, but who knows i think i am just going to take it off i dont want it to happen again.
