Expensive Car Wash

So i went and washed my truck on this beatiful evening here in Lubbock, TX and while i was drying it i had my new system full blast showing it off to the crowd. Well for some stupid reason i was cleaning the interior pieces where the locks are and i closed the door without thinking and oops i'm locked out just like that. My stereo bumping full blast and me locked out of my Lightning. I had to get a locksmith come and open it for me, Sunday evening, ran me $50 to get it open for 3 minutes of his labor. That just isn't fair, oh well lesson learned the hard way. I will post pics of my new system later.

What year is your L?

2000 and 2001 have the keypad harness already in the door. All you have to get is the keypad and handle (color matched from Ford) . It plug and play.

You will never have to worry about it again.
Here is the link to the "how to" page

Here is my 01s Kepad mod ( the Keypads became stock on 02 and up Ls)

Yep .

Go to the link I just posted for part #s and instructions.

You can get the parts from Fordpartsonline pretty cheap. I think everything is about $100 and about 1/2 of work.

I have an 02, and love my keypad. Works great when you don't want to get your keys out of your pocket. Or, if you want to lock your keys in the truck instead of carrying them with you like if you were at the beach or something.

Installed mine in an 01 having trouble with the ford installed alarm! Is there a special code to put in to have it turn off the alarm when you use the key pad! Artie

I have a door pad on both my windstar van and my Ford 150...Use it all the time...A friend put one on his Ranger as he was tired getting locked out...Very cheap upgrade he found...

Wife's forgets her keys many times and always has the way into the rig with the door pad...You can leave a spare key hid inside..and away you go...
