Best year 01 02 03 or 04?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy a used or maybe new L in the near future and was wondering if all the years mentioned above are identical or if one model year has an advantage over the other. I am referring to things that only L enthusiasts would really know from experience (specifically referring to modifying the L for more power). Example: better heads, tougher engine block, better ecm, suspension, etc. Thanks in advance!

That's a no brainer. 03/04 have better heads due to the extra
(4) sparkplug threads and stronger rods than 01/02.

From: Colorado,
I'm pretty content with my 99.
I think most of the ones with intercooler problems would be addressed by now.

There a little down on 1/4 mile but with the taller gearing I am enjoying anywhere from 13 to 17 MPG.

I love my 02, it was made after the half way mark for the production, it has the better heads in it so no complaints here.....except for the all day every day allignment problems

If you can afford a new 2004, then you get one with the most bugs worked out and one that hasn't been beat on.
