Just change the RODS

Wouldnt it be cheaper to just change the rods instead of buying a whole new built block?????

Just for you Skelton.

But I must say why? When you take apart the block you mite as well go the whole nine yards and get pistons to.

I have asked this question a million times,
and pretty much got the same answer you did

What it comes down to is this, these Mod Motors are not
as easy as throwing a sb cheby engine together for an example.
Of what I see and hear, they're pretty complex engines that take time and skill to get right. (time being what works against us)

There truly seems to be very limited mod motor builders around. As we all know the built Motors we all buy from the Vendors are built outside their shops by one of these limited builders.
Although all the vendors offer the full rebuilting kit on their site,
none seem to want to step up to the plate and actually install that kit themself, right there in their own shop. I guess we can't blame them, but I for one would love to see this possible for @ 5K, and then be able to afford a built Motor, and have a beast WITH MATCHING #'s

Hey Rob.....I build every motor that comes out of our shop. I have done a rebuild with the stock pistons with no problems.

Just wanted to point out that we build our own motors!!!

WOW, thats great, I guess that makes you the one and only Vendor we have that does that, I commend you for doing the work yourself, I like that....

Tommy, so how much $ to install an Outrageous Performance "BUILT"motor in a box - $1,799.95 ???
"WITH NOTHING ELSE" what would it cost, Parts and Labor ???

and

How much for you to install your Outrageous Performance "Built" Short Block $3,600.00
Take a running Lightning, swap the Heads and all other engine parts with no cams, no valve work, NOTHING.
Parts and Labor Bottom Line # ???

Concerned Minds wan't to know

Some people just go around all the sites and say "search it, search it, search it".....it's rather annoying to read since it takes more time to post that response then to just pass over those posts.

I sure hope that you are not trying to paste that label on me, Max. 2,023 posts. Many offering specific advice/help/suggestions on reasonably new topics. If you don't believe me, then, well do a search.

I thought his built motors were bought from an outside source too, DOES HE REBUILD THEM ALL IN HOUSE ???

I guess the million Dollar question is ???
As stated this subject has been covered MANY MANY TIMES
and I have asked the same questions MANY MANY TIMES
AND NOT ONCE GOT AN ANSWER FOR A PRICE, "FROM ANYONE"
--> WHY<--

I don't want a 15K motor, or a 10k motor for that matter.
I have a brand new motor with 13K on it, all I want is someone
to say hell ya over 3K is more than enough for labor, I can do it
for 5K.

1/2 a day to take it out
(IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME FOR A PROFESSIONAL)
1/2 a day to tear it down, 2 or 3 days to clean up, hone, measure, install new rods, and put back together. Lets give it a full day to put back in and get running.
3K profit for 4-5 days work seems more than fair to me ?
Plus the profit they make on the Motor Kit itself.
(and 5 days is waaaaaaaaaay more time than needed, can be done in less than 2 if your moving along well)
Ya we know it sometimes takes weeks or even months to actually get your ride back, but we all know thats cause they're only spending a hour here and there on it.

Like I say, TIME WORKS AGAINST US
God knows we can't even get most tuners on the phone the entire racing season............... (no bashing, just stating a fact your all aware of) So I guess it simply comes down to no-one is willing to put the time in, even know there's a good profit in it.

I guess when someone go's for a 15K Motor, you make time,

Sorry for the delay Rob.......Here is the answers you have been looking for.

Outrageous Performance short block installed, including all gaskets, new plugs, fluids ect......$5,141

This includes a $500 discount for your block unharmed and 6% NJ sales tax. We can use your block for the buildup but this will tie the truck up for a few weeks. We would send your block out to get bored and honed.

Using the stock pistons and your block would give you a total cost of $4,134.

Any questions let me know

schitt for that price, I may just do it now ???
