Drag Radials

Need some info. What gives better ET's the BF Goodrich G/Force
345/30R 18 Or the Nitto 555R 305/45R 18 I want to use 18" Rims and tire selection seems limited. Anybody know of any other drag tire for 18" rims? Thanks, Larry

everyone uses the 555r's in 305, those BF's in 345 sounds like a ton of rubber. never heard of anyone using 345s on our 18's

Resulits

I have the Nitto 305 DR's and am pretty impressed with them. I have yet to mess with tire pressure and have always test launched on good ole state pavement. I haven't tried the Goodriches' but the extra tread ought to be worth something!!
Anyone else?

Mark

I made 7 passes on my new 555Rs yesterday at FFW Englishtown. Granted the track was prepped well for the event and it was HOOOOOT as ***** but I was hooking pretty good with them.

22 PSI. Nice 8-10 second burnout to heat them up (drive through the box). I was launching off idle and netted a best of 1.84. Not spectacular compared to F1s but the thing that impressed me is that after I tried different launch techniques, I found that I could literally stab it to the floor from idle with little wheel spin. Can't do that with F1s. And because of the consistency, I ran within .004 tenths on each run with the exception of one of them. These tires definitely have 1.7xx 60s in them too. Can't wait to get them down to Atco.

Two issues with the 345's: finding wheels WIDE enough for them, and they are short. Running them will be like running a 4.10 rear gear.
