Sold my Lightning!

As those of you that have read my most recent posts know, and anyone else who may care, I have had enough with my black 02 Lightning. I dumped it, and after considering everything from Vipers to WRXs, and test driving more than a couple Corvettes, I purchased a 2004 Sonic Blue Lightning! It's the best bang for the buck going right now, and it's nice to have a brand-new one to start with. It currently has 13 miles on it; I'd post pics, but I'm sure you guys know what a stock Sonic Blue Lightning looks like. I wasn't sure about the color at first, but it's growing on me. I'm pretty secure in my masculinity, I guess. BTW, for guys that are local to me, if you see my old Lightning for sale in the area, I wouldn't buy it.

Sorry guys, I wasn't trying to offend any current SB owners! Just a matter of taste...like I said, mine is growing on me---every time I look at it, I like it a little more.

Matt,

I wonder how much the phone calls you made to me helped in your final decision. Statements like "you better get it today or I will have it tomorrow".

Congrats on the new truck. I think SB is the best color, but the longer I can keep my black truck clean the more it grows on me.

Congrats ! But what were your problems with 02L ? I know heads are bad (sparkplug issue) but, cylinder walls on 04'S are supposed to be thinner too ! I thought about it but the taxes and trade screw you to much. I priced new 03 heads for $950.00 each complete with cams. Also I think the head matting surface is a little better than, 02L . Goodluck enjoy !

Fast1, I didn't even consider buying a Cobra...before my 2002 Lightning, I had gone through 3 Mustangs, 2 of which were Cobras. The reason I got a Lightning in the first place was because I was tired of looking at the same old dash every day. So I'm now on my fourth SVT vehicle...this is not healthy!

Mike, let's just say that if I hadn't called you, I might still be driving a black Lightning.

Smokintruck, long story short, my truck was making noise similar to an exhaust leak, they had the truck for two days, didn't make the noise go away, and told me it was normal. Funny thing is, my new Lightning doesn't make that noise. Hmmmm.

Explain to me how piston slap is fine, because I did not know that.

BTW Matt, congrats on the new L, I hope you have many years of joy with her. Every time my son sees a SB L he tells me I should have gotten one that color. Blue's his favorite color.
