Side Step Removal

Can someone tell me the secret to removal of my sidestep covers or can it be done without destroying them?

I see three "squeeze" tabs coming through but with the two large ones released, I can still barely move it.

Am I wasting my time, should I simply order new ones?

It can be done, be patient and use a pliers to squeeze the %$#$ out of them. Pull straight out from the truck. I forget how many clips are back there, but they aren't too hard to spot. I pulled mine off to clean the wax residue off them about a month ago.

Thanks illegalspeed, I thought I was on the right track, I got the rear one off but felt like there might be a hidden clip pointing down.

BTW, next time you need to remove that wax residue, go to an art supply store and buy a couple of good, 3/4" wide brushes, one stiff and one soft. They works great for removing wax from cracks and corners. (an old Ferrari show trick).
