DTC P1406 - Where is it?
DTC P1406 - Where is it?
My truck has thrown an EGR DTC, the "P1406 Differential Pressure Feedback Sensor Hose Off or Unplugged".
I know this is the "downstream" side hose to the EGR vacuum sensor, but where is it in the Engine? I only know where the EGR valve itself is.

Nevermind, I found it.
Its waaaay to hot to work with at the moment (was driiving before).
The hose looks fine (not disconnected), but it may be clogged or the sensor might be bad.
Second question:
Does a malfunctioning DPE EGR sensor effect drivability? (aka, how soon should I shop it for it).

P1406
I'm getting the same reading - P1406, Differential Pressure Feedback Sensor Downstream Hose Off Or Plugged. My Ford is driving fine, but I noticed that all of a sudden it is smoking out the tailpipe (yikes!) so I put the tester on it. Unfortunately I don't know where the sensor or the hose is. Sometimes I think I do well just to locate the engine. :-) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It is to the driver-side of the engine if you look from the front. You'll see two solid lines coming up from the exhaust manifold/headers that turn into high-temp rubber hoses that both plug into the same little "square box".
P1406 is one of those hoses...

your talking about the DPFE sensor. it's on the drivers side rail that connects to the blower. it has 2 rubber hoses that run from the EGR tube to the sensor. Mine failed. They (ford) gave me a new one. it's plastic now not metal like the origional
