How is the ride quality with the snubber right against the leaf? Did you notice any change in your traction with the bars like that?

I have the truck tracks on a 03 at stock height and the snubber is about 2 1/8" away from the leaf. I didnt see any improvements in 60' times, I guess I have to either get a bigger snubber or lower the truck to get it closer to the leaf.

Mine are 1/2-3/4" from the leaf on my 03. I have DJM 2" drop shackles though. But they adjusted fine without the shackles. Sounds like you need to shim those Truk Traks!!!

Did you do a before and after for your 60' times to see if the bars helped you any? How far was the bar from your leaf at stock height?

Thanks
Mike

there is a reason you haven't seen any improvement!

1. For racing the snubber should be touching against the leaf, that way the rear end won't have to twist at all to make contact with the leaf.
2. for street driving I had mine abou 1/2-3/4" away from the leaf spring.

It's real easy to adjust them, if you don't have them adjusted right they are doing nothing except adding extra weight to the truck

Well that's reassuring that I can get some better 60' times, if I get my bars set up right.

I take it your adjusting them by loosening and sliding them in one direction or another? Or are you talking about getting a taller snubber? Sorry if I am completly off base.

I just bolted them on and followed the directions (which only said 2" space and not hitting any rivets) I guess I need to get out there and trying to get them up against the leaf for the track.

Same distance at stock height. I used the shims once I lowered it. Can't say it really improves your 60 ft times. That is mostly dependent on track prep. The primary purpose is to reduce axle wrap to keep your driveshaft intact

Axle wrap was the only reason I put them on. Yes, the ride is much stiffer with the snubber like I had it.
It does eliminate axle wrap\wheel hop but my 60' times are worse with the traction bars on.

Without them I was cutting 1.85's consistently. With them I was in the 1.9's. Keep in mind I am running the stock F1's.

I took them off a few days ago. I do have spring clamps on which DID help my 60' and didn't hurt the ride to much at all.
