2nd & 3rdGear..lose power?

I cant seem to figure this one out.....

Sometimes well after the shfit arround 4,000+rpms it feels like it takes a dip/loss of power for a few moments then returns to normal then back to the loss...then shift into 3rd and the same thing occurs?????
It feels like excess drag on the motor. Its very smooth but very noticable.

SOMETIMES IT FINE!!

I see no visual signs of belt slippage. Could this be a boost issue or a convertor issue. Please I need some help before I take it to the DEALER.

Its an 03 L w/ 7,000 miles on it..ALL STOCK w/ K&N drop in.

It is torque reduction in the programming ford uses to ease the stress on the transmission.

During the shifts it cuts out 4 cylinders to help the transmission cope with the power.

Thats only on the 1-2shift....

I drove it last night and made 10 pulls with it or so and it acted just fine? I'm thinking its just in 3rd gear and its only the convetor locking up...
I'll keep an eye on it and post when I figure out the exact details.

Torque reduction occurs between the 1/2 shift, but torque converter lockup DOES occur in 3rd gear

I was told about Tq reduction in anouther post..... I understand the whole 4cyl cut out and "fart" noise that comes with it.
I drove it again today and I cant seem to get it to do it anymore? It seems to be OK.
I'm going to swap out to a gator back belt and run some 94oct in it from now on. The problem seems to occur when it was warmer out 80*+. Now its arround 70* and it no longer does it?

P.S its well beyond the shifts when it losses power. Its prob all in my mind since it a new truck to me.

Sounds like you're talking about the torque converter locking up, which is perfectly normal. If it is a brief 200rpm dip around 4000rpm, that is exactly what mine does.

I could swear that mine locks up under hard accel around in 2nd, not just 3rd gear like fractal said. Does anyone else's do this? I will have to experiment tonight.
