Purchased my L today

Thanks to everyone who replied to my thread on the purchase of a 2002 Lightning or 04 Lightning. After checking out everything and a nice long ride on highway / country roads I purchased the truck today. I am now the proud owner of a 2002 True Blue Lightning equipped with: ftvb w/ 4x4 pan, accufab tb, diablo chip (PSP tune), jdm cold air, 6pound lower w/ gatorback belt, lakewood bars, tr-6 plugs, billet specialties slx-37 wheels and flowmaster mufflers. She runs smooth without any stumble or detonation. All of the original parts are in a pile in my garage. I need to get a bedrug and tonneau cover to be complete. What closed the deal were the two black marks 30 foot long on a back road. She definitely has power and only 2950 miles on the odometer. Best 24k I've spent so far. I'll post some pics later. Have to get some rest now, third shift is a killer.

I hate when my girlfriend has been logged on asking questions and I post as her log on. Oh well, at least she appreciates the truck and enjoys whats happening with the trucks. Oh, I almost forgot, I put a 160 degree thermostat in the truck and it threw a code. What temprature should I put in to stop the truck from doing this? 170, 180?

Congrats on the L purchase. Sounds like most of your modding is already done. You can run a 170 t-stat. Speeder has been running one in his '02 L with no problems. You may want to think about swapping out the Flowmasters and go with Magnaflow or Bassani. Flowmasters don't really perform well with the L. The Maggy and Bassani seem to be the favorites.

Sweet Deal

Best price I have heard of so far considering the mods and miles. Paid 25500 my self back in August last year.

Congrats!

I took a few pictures but she is dirty. Thanks for the advice on the thermostat. I can tell the shift torque reduction is turned off on the chip, I may have to soften that in the future a bit. I just uploaded a few into my gallery. Ok, lets hear it, good or bad.

The truck looks great. Congats. I do have to ask about the tire/wheel combo. What size are they, because they look a little on the small side. Could just be the picture though.

The tires are the stock Goodyears wrapped around the Billet Specialties rims 18" rims. They came with the truck and are starting to grow on me, I didn't like them at first. I need to install some drop shackles on the rear looking at the picture. Your right though, the combo does looks small in the picture. I need to take some better pictures this weekend after a good washing.
