I really didn't read all of the posts on the link you gave.....but here is the main link that gets you to the FAQ link I posted above. It is a chemistry site. I have a tendency to place a bit more confidence here than a link to another web forum.

It is a crap load of reading if your real bored...but it is some good info for octane and how it all works.

Yeah, I just stayed up way too late reading the link you gave me. Interesting stuff. Actually, I see that the link I posted plagerized a fair amount of the info from yours, and messed up the concept in the process. At least the chemistry link you posted has citations. Very good reading. I stand corrected. Thanks!
