Silver,

How noisy are the urethane bushings? I previously had some on another vehicle; and the creaking drove me crazy.

Good point Edward! My truck with the Roush springs on the rear makes enough noise to wake the dead. I can't stand to drive with the windows down......except at the track where there is so much noise you can't hear the squeeks.

unless I'm just misunderstanding you, you don't need a crank seal.

if the front cover/crank seal was leaking, the oil would be leaking down the front cover from behind the balancer and maybe a little on the back side of the balancer.

if the oil is actually coming out of the center of your balancer (around the bolt and washer) as I read you, then the only thing sealing there is the press on fit of the balancer, and a little dab of silicone sealer in the keyway.

it wouldn't matter either way, because if you had the front seal replaced, they would remove the balancer and HOPEFULLY, reapply some new silicone in the keyway slot. but I just thought I'd mention it so you don't pay for work that you don't need.

good luck.

later,
chris

My urethane bushings were silent in the 20k++ miles I put on them. I greased the crap out of them prior to installing and had zero sqeeks. It is an absolute PITA install job but well worth the improved feel and handling. As big of pain as the job was I would do it again on the next L.

My DJM arms don't make a bit of noise. Nor do my anti-sway bushings or shackles.

But I greased the hell out of everything -- inside and out -- before installing.
