dyno the truck today

Hey guys Im getting ready to do some mods, so i had the truck put on the dyno today humidity was at 85% and about 80 deg. not the the best temp for hp. but i did a few pulls anyway the first pull was the best at 322 rwhp and every pull after that was around 305 and 330 tork. is this fairly normal? and the graph has a wierd drop every time around 5200 rpm just falls clear off then back up again. the truck is stck except for a cold air intake.

any input would be app.

Thanks

Dale

I must say, way short on HP and TQ for stock. Should be around 350HP & 420TQ at the wheels.

Is it a Lightning? Or a Toyota? If it's a Toyota, nice numbers!! Otherwise, you have some issues.

I've heard that mustang dynos show low anyway. Also heard that they are more accurate since they displace a constant load on the truck???

The general opinion is that the Mustang dynos' results are about 13%-15% below dynojet results. Some operators put in correction factors to make them read about the same as dynojets, but most of them leave the results 'as is'.

If you take your HP and multiply by 1.15 you end up with typical dynojet results of 350 HP. However, your torque is low, and the graph doesn't show the typical L peak at 3100-3500 rpm. They may not have gone WOT at the beginning of the pull.

5250 is the shift point for a stock L, so you are probably looking at the effect of torque reduction by the ECU at the shift point. I think the rev limiter is set at 5400 rpm. Did they make the run in 3rd gear with the OD off?

Any dyno results, although factored for temp and barometric variables, are going to be unique to that dyno. They aren't like tape measures, where they all yield the same measurement every time. You should find a dyno shop where you are comfortable with their compentency, and use that as your yardstick for future mods. The results may not directly compare with other shops, but you will have a valid measurement of gains/losses from mods. Generally speaking, the operator/tuner is more important for valid results than the equipment.

Ya man, that can't possibaly be right,
@ 3800 RPM it's showing like 200 / 250 WTF ???
I wouldn't even consider those numbers nearly correct

BTW mr2x75
wierd drop @ 5200 is your Rev Limiter / Fuel Cut Off
Diff yrs may vary, the 01 spec sheet I'm holding in my hand right now and reading show fuel cutoff at 5250 RPM

Get a Chip Bro, loose the Torque Reduction, move the Rev Limiter/Fuel Cut Off to at least 5700 RPM (mines at 6K)
Optimal shift points for best ET are @ 5300 - 5500 RPM, and you need a little room before hitting the Limiter. After you Mod it, go elsewhere and you'll be happy with the #'s GOOD LUCK....

When my truck was stock I took it to a mustang dyno and numbers were 315HP/394TQ. Your HP seems within range but
TQ is definitely off somehow.
