Flashing theft light

I noticed tonight while sitting in the staging line that my theft light was flashing. It flashes while the truck is off and unlocked. I have had an electrical drain for some time and maybe that's it. I don't normaly sit in my truck in the dark so don't know how long this has been going on. Truck starts and runs fine but the flashing light isn't right. Any ideas? I did a search and only came up with chip problems....I disconnected the battery to see if that would fix the prob....didn't help
TIA ..........JR

My truck some times sits 2 0r 3 weeks without driving it. The light flashes all the time. I have no battery problems with a 3 yr old battery.

isn't it only supposed to flash only when the truck is locked?

It's normal for the theft or security light to flash. The doors don't have to be locked. My wifes '04 Mustang does the same thing. In fact all of the new Ford's that have the chipped ignition key do it. If you're loosing charge, it's being caused by something else.

Hope this helps.

I recently noticed the same thing in my truck. I talked to others who told me
this is normal but I really don't remember the light blinking before. I'll ask my
service tech and post any info I find out.

An alarm led most likely draws more than the theft light and those don't cause any significant battery drain.
