2" drop shackles and towing

I am considering putting drop shackles on my truck but I am concerned about what it will look like/if it will bottom out when I hook my boat trailer up to it. Has anyone had a problem with this? I would like the rear to sit lower, but if it will mess with the towing I won't bother. Thanks for any comments -

Totally depends on tougne wieght of your loaded trailer. I have the 2" adjustable drop shakles on my 2002, and they recomend changing to the taller setting for towing. just got back from a 90 mi. trip with a 48 ford panel delivery truck (no motor, trans) on a rental trailer, I did not raise it back up, just aired up the nittos, when loaded, still had an inch or so before bottoming out, and didn't have a problem, never felt it bottom out even on the country roads, kept forgetting it was back there till about 70 then trailer would wander.
the shakles are an easy install around 1/2 hour 45 min. and worth it. Do it, and hook your boat on see how it looks clearence wise.

i have a 3/3 drop on mine, that is a belltech kit with the stock shackles, but i used their hangers, the back was to low with the drop shackles also. it towed ok, but it did bottom on some bumps here in michigan, so i went with some air bag helpers, they mount between the chassis and the leaf, it cost around 150, and for another 100 u can get the compressor so ya dont have to carry around air or find a gas station, and i would recommend it, i got one after a season of not having it..this pic is without the air bags and the back seems alittle low..
