We all like our little heads up display in the center of the headliner that nicely displays the direction we are traveling to and the outside temperature in either Degrees F or C. I don't care about the outside temp much. I would rather see the intake temp.
I am wanting to re-use or replace that outside temp sensor and move it into my intake pipe. If the stock sensor will not work, does anyone know if the that sensor is a regular 0-5V sensor?
Also, where is that stock temp sensor located?
Anyone else like this idea?

I will let you all know how-to, etc ... when I complete the project!

I was thinking of making the over head temp gauge read the intercooler temp.

It probably doesn't react very quick because it is shrouded in plastic so the wind doesn't "chill" it. I bet if you broke the plastic guard off of it then it would work great.
I don't know a lot about the readings different sensors make, but you might be able to find a aftermarket sensor that will read the same, and is designed for the application you want to read.

I would find out what sensors are compatable with the display before you go too far with things... just because it reads out the temperature doesnt mean that the sensor in generic. You would be better off relocating the stock sensor like someone said.
Great idea!!! I do not like how slow/inaccurate this temp gauge is, but it would rock to see some engine monitoring stuff!
Casey, I met you up at holt 2 weekends ago.. Dude, how do you keep your truck looking that awesome.. I can make red look good, But i want mine to bling like yours!!
