Air intake problem
Got a little problem. I just bought an Air Force One (at least I think it is) air intake kit off of Ebay and I ran into a little problem when installing it. The kit I got includes the cone-shaped air filter and the adaptor bracket. Everything else is factory (intake hose, sensors, etc.) The factory air intake setup had 2 sensors, 1 bigger one and one smaller one. However, the AF1 only allows me to use the bigger one. So right now, the 2nd sensor is just hanging off to the side. Of course, the service engine light is on. What's going on? Am I missing a piece or am I only supposed to use the larger sensor? Thanks for the info.
I have the Airforce 1 kit as well. For the life of me, I cannot remember there being a second sensor. The intake temperature sensor (light colored tip as I recall) fits in a 1/2" +/- hole in the neck of the adapter from the filter to MAF.
I don't know what the second sensor is that you are talking about.
You don't mean the cable to the mass air meter?

Air box
On the factory setup, one sensor went to the MAFS and one was in the box where the filter was housed. Since the AF1 does away with the factory air box, that sensor is just hanging off unused.
the sensor you are talking about was connected to the oem air box. it is called a" TEMP PROBE" per airforce one instructions.well, i stood there for 10 minutes trying to figure it out also. this is what you need to do.
there is a small hole in the rubber end of the airforce one filter that connects to the airforce one venturi adapter, which connects to the M.A.S (MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR). the Hole is very small, you can easily miss it. pull the filter off and you will see it better.you stick that temp probe sensor into the small hole.(instructions state to put a little water,or spit on the end of the temp probe sensor so that it will slide in easily),.........it will be a tight fit..........but it is supposed to be a tight fit. now you should have both connections installed.the temp probe and the connection that goes to the M.A.S. connect all of your other parts and you should be almost finished. when finished, you need to do this.airforce one suggest removing the negative battery cable, and turn on the headlight switch for aproximately one minute. this is supposed to clear the non-volatile memory, and allow the computer to re-learn the changes you have made to the system. then, turn off the headlight switch, and re-connect negative battery cable, and re-start your engine. you should be fine then

Thanks alot for the information. Everything is good now. Sensor is in, check engine light is off. I guess instructions would have helped!
