Question Could torque reduction still be on?

I installed my JLP Predator custom tune on Sunday. Today, when I hammered the gas next to a wall, it still sounded like a fart between 1-2 gear shift. I was under the impression that torque reduction is usually elimated in the aftermarket custom tunes.

JLP leaves the torque reduction on unless asked. My JLP Predator custom tune has it on and I hate it! I thought the tuners turned it off or I would have said something to him. The SCT Racer Pro is on the way!

Torque reduction sucks
If I couldn't have shut it off and moved my Rev Limiter to 6K, this truck would have been of no use to me.

Can you shut it off via the Predator ? I thought you can do that, but I don't see Torque Reduction listed in the list ?

Did you talk to Johnny Blown347Hatch ? I'm positive he can shut it off. He did it for me on my Diablo Delta Chip (both programs)

I am wondering if Tq reduction can be turned off by (us), or the tuner has to do it. Either way, I am going to get this done.

BTW Rob, the timing is now 16 degrees under full load WOT, then as RPM's build the timing gradually builds up to 20 degrees, then when it shifts and the RPM's drop, so does the timing, back to 16 degrees, then repeats.

Thanks guys for the replys.

Can't be done by us. You'll need to get John to do it.

That is called slope timing. It drops everytime you switch gears or smash the throttle. It gets rid of throttle tipin detonation on trucks with this problem but it hurts you bigtime at the track.

Peaking at 20 degrees is pretty high without some high octane race gas in the tank. Most trucks can't handle that much timing without octane help.

Why do you want the torque reduction set to off. I've seen posts from Gregg Evans (factory tech) that says you should leave it on because it's best for the tranny. Are you running nitros? I know Rob has said he wants his off because he doesn't want cylinders droping out when he's on the juice. I had Johnny leave mine on in my Predator tune because of Gregg's advice.

I know Sal says to turn it off, and he thought he had Gregg convinced of the same.
