I just scored this free long block (made for a superduty truck I believe). Not sure how old it is (it was never fully put together and run), but it should work as a good start for a built motor - right? I am unsure of where to begin with it, or what all I need to get going on it. I can build slowly and maybe have it ready for next season

That's a dream for me right now... how did you end up finding a free block??

 

My dad had it at work for part fit-up, and they needed to unload it... even comes already on an engine stand! I can't wait to get it here and begin working on it. Probably looking at a few thousand $$$ to create a nice motor right? I need to get a list of parts needed... I will definitely run a KB on it. Or......... maybe run centrifugal???

if your looking for instant gratification go with a kb. although i'm scared to really turn up the boost on my novi 2000 we are making more hp with less boost than the eaton but we are having issues with keeping the truck in the powerband and we are now going to try a higher stall to see if that will help.
