Would you be disappointed? Track Results!

First time at the track with the L Friday night. Damn, it was busy. Got there at 7pm and left at 10pm and only got 2 runs in.

So anyways, here's the detail:

1st run:

60': 2.1
1/4: 13.4
MPH: 103

2nd run:

60': 2.3
1/4: 13.4
MPH: 105

This is with everyting on the truck, nothing removed on 70% F1's. The Trucks mods:

4# lower, JDM Flipchip, Magnaflow Catback, Cobra R Waterpump, JDM E-Fan.

I only ran the 'street tune' of the flipchip on both runs. Next time I will run the 'race tune'.

What do you guy's think?

Don't worry, just work on your 60 fts. and you'll be fine. If you get that down in the 1.8 to 1.9 like many have with F1's, you'll definitely be in the 12's. How is the track prep there?

The track is the only local one here and horrible. I am also new to the RWD Auto world and truck world which doesn't help.

In my GSX (AWD) I was able to cut 1.5's and 1.6's on street tires all day long.

How much of a difference should the 'race tune' of the chip make? Enough to get me into the 12's with a little better 60' times?

Your 60s are looking like your spinning A BIT, race tune will just magnify the problem, not sure what you were trying but, try dropping the F-1s to around 23lbs and heat them good come off the line just above idle (1,000 rpm) or so get on the gas hard but don't stomp it. seat time, trial & error will get you there concentrate on your launches, get your 60s down your in the high 12s already with your mph
good luck

For you first time out on F-1's Hell no, don't be disappointed. Do you have any kind of traction mods? And what air pressure did you have in the F-1's? As said above the 60ft is everything.

As long as you had a great time that's all that counts!

Cool

A 105mph would indicate it's got high 12 potential. Even on F1s.

Exactly my thoughts
Your lose of ET was 100% related to the 60ft times

Also exactly my thoughts, and air pressure makes a world of diff.
So does Air/Track Temp, Humidity, Prep, etc....
Don't worry Ben , IT'S IN THERE

BTW, YOU NEED MORE TIMING, hehehehehehe...........

No traction mods on Friday at the track. I did install some lakewood's yesterday. Tire pressure was left alone. (I don't know what's in them now, I guess 35-40?).

Hopefully the F1's will be done with soon so I can get some Nitto 555R's.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Ben, whether you are running f-1's or Nitto's you need to lower the air pressure to 21, 22 lbs - there is a huge difference on launch!

not true, i used to cut 1.87 60's consistent at stock pressure without "traction mods",

and our tracks are from from well prepped

you just have to learn to drive outta the hole, the f1's hook great

the only think traction bars are going to do at the mid 12 power level is keep you from breaking your driveshaft

Lower the rear tires to 27-28 psi

what rpm are you launchung at??

Try just bring the revs up enough to take the slack out of the drive train and ease into the throttle. It will take a while to learn just how agressive you can be with the gas.

Yup. They should be called "anti-break-your-driveshaft" bars instead.
