01L vs 96 SS
My buddy and i lined up last night on the back roads, to see where i stand after the 4# pulley and the custom predator tune.
1st run he had traction issues off the line and i pulled out front and he couldnt real me in. 2nd run was an uneven start and we soon stopped and sarted for a 3rd time where he got a good launch and I had a little slip but stayed with his back bumper up to 100. I am very impressed with the results of the pulley and custom tune. It seemed like who ever had the better launch had the lead and the other was right there. Now its time to hit the track on a regular basis. And of course MORE MODS!!

sounds like fun! good job in holding your own... a guy brought a stck mustang to work last night and wanted to run. i told him he needed to bring a little more if he wanted a good race...lol and that i would meet him at the track if he wanted.. doubt he comes back by. now if he had the cobra with the blower that would have been a diff story....

I think your L did awesome to hang with a 400 HP CAR that weighs like 1200 lbs less than your truck. I think he might be a little off on his HP numbers.

Hey 01BLKSVT... who has the SS and what is done to it? I am from south fla, and there arent too many LT1 Camaro's putting down those #'s round here on motor (I am assuming its motor, cause you didnt mention anything else)

 

lt1 = 400hp ? He needs to goto a dyno and get an actual rear wheel hp number. There aren't many lt1's putting down , urhmm 400hp. i guess he just made that number up by mods..hehe

 

Go to a Camaro site and you will see alot of LT1 400 rwhp claims. Then go to a Corvette site and that rwhp number will be reduced to around 350-370 rwhp. My heads/cam LT1 Vette made 358 rwhp.

It must be a Camaro thing.

My buddys LS1 Z28 with a little over 400 rwhp/400 rwtq ran a 11.7 @ 122 last night without nitrous..

I'm thinking that your buddy may be a little off in his dyno numbers.

 

I agree that the camaro's hp numbers are off because a 400 hp camaro with a half way descent launch is an 11 second car.
