Do your tires wear evenly?

My left (driver side) front seems to wear much faster than other three.

Just put on my second set of F-1s at 52K miles. Both sets had same wear pattern. Rotate every 5K.

My tire guy said he as seen this a lot on Ls.

Do your tires wear evenly?

other than the rears disappearing way to fast, the fronts seem to wear on the inside quickly, i have had it in for an alignment the last two sets, but i still get it...

Check the "clunk" bolt on the drivers side.

I run 1.5 degrees of neg camber so mine do rub out
the insides first.

Clunk Washers + Cam Bolts + Good Alignment Shop = Good Tire Wear

2" Drop A-arms and 1" drop springs seems to have effected my set-up very little.

I really think it's important to rotate these
F-1's......about every 4-6k miles....plus keeping tire pressure at 32 lbs...

My F1s wore evenly and were replaced at 42,300 miles. My TOYOs have been on 23+K and are wearing evenly too.

my rear tires wear something awful...

I rotate them, When I buy 2 new tires, they go on the front and the front go on the rear.

seems like I'm replacing tires every 8000 miles or so...

How in the world can you get 43k out of a set of F'1's ?...this is simply amazing to me...do you have some kind of ancient Mayan tire secret that you could share with us?....you could be in the Guniess(sp)
Book of World Records...

02TruBlue,
What kind of wear are you getting on the fronts? Is it even wear on the inside or choppy (triangle shape) wear? If you are getting choppy wear on the inside...the culprit most likely is your lower ball joints. I also run 1 1/2 negative camber on mine and that seems to help. But would strongly recommend getting a fix for the clunk bolt on the driver's side - cam bolt kit - and a GOOD alignment guy.

LOL @ GM!

I've been always 'easy' on tires thru the years. Maybe it's the 'little things' that add up? I don't turn the fronts while sitting still, only when rolling. I check tire psi(32#) after the truck has sat overnight. I use an accurate, analog tire gauge(not a 'cheapy'--cost $30). About 80%(?) of my driving is on I-75 at interstate speeds and with little turning. I don't do WOT down-shifts except at higher speeds. I make late-apex turns when possible.

FWIW, I don't rotate them as often as I should. I did 1/4 mile them a few times before I got my MTs. I've never had the 'clunk' or an alighnment.

I dont know if this can be true or not,but i was told that if you are the only one in the vehicle, your weight alone will do this.
my 01 L is doing the same thing with 24,000 miles.

In my 01 at 15k both of my front tires were wearing unevenly, the insides had low and high spots so at low speeds it was noticeable, i havent figured out the problem either, just rorated them to the back.
