Question EGT sensor?

I have delt with turbo cars before in the past and I was wondering if anyone on this website had delt with using an EGT instead of an A/F ratio meter? They offer great benefits as far as a turbo car goes, so why doesn't anyone with a supercharger use one. I installed an A/F ratio meter in my friends car but I was always afraid that it wasn't as accurate as I needed to be be under severe situations. I'm just feeling around trying to see what peoples thoughts are.

I use an EGT instead of a A/F meter. In my opinion, an EGT is the only way to go. I like to see around 1400 degrees at WOT.

I am betting you already know the reasons why.

The only thing that comes close to an EGT is a wideband A/F gauge.

The so called A/F gauges that autometer and others sell are a joke.

I also run an EGT.

Where did you mount the EGT probe?

Mine is 1" from the head at the #5 cylinder (farthest towards the front of the truck, drivers side.

(there is a brass plug in it in that picture.)

It's a shame no one else here is smart enough other than a select few to use an EGT gauge. To those that have a wideband A/F, disregard that statement.

I wanna say "See sig", I think that sums it up well lol.

I have to say that I am a bit surprised that there are only two of us with EGT gages.

That may help to explain how so many guys find out the tune is crap....after the rods hit the highway.

Best darned advise Mike T ever gave me...IMHO.

As far as I know, it's you, me, easter, 99svt bolt, and tampa black 99 that make up the EGT club.

Hmm, egt club. Maybe something good for the sig? lol

Autometer Lunar. I want to upgrade to one of their faster acting "race" probes at some point.

Are you using the probe that the gauge included, or one of their upgraded ones?

Do you have a link to some info on that??? I meant to ask you, what temps do you generally see at WOT.
