Question Best treadwear/traction tire?

I've done a lot of searches on this site for a tire that has the best treadwear but doesn't sacrifice ALL of the traction. Hoping you you guys would just throw out some different ideas on this. If you would, throw out the tire ratings and measurements too.

How much life do you think they have left after 20K? Also, how is the traction?

i have never had the goodyears before, but i hear that traction on the toyos is not as good. harder compound will give you longer treadwear. good years are generally softer, so they will give better traction and wear out quicker. toyo/longer treadwear/not as good of traction. goodyear/20k miles and you are looking for a another set of tires/better traction. my opinion, longer treadwear is more important than better traction for me personally. i am not an agressive driver, so i have not spun out, or skidded in the rain.

if you really want great traction go with toyos in the front and Nitto 555R's in the rear.

you'll change out the nittos twice before changing the toyos

My $0.02:

There are really no secrets or magic formulas. You can have treadwear, traction, or wet handling. Pick two. The differences between equal treadwear/wet traction tires are pretty small.

For the most part, a 600 treadwear tire has about 1/3 the grip of a 200.

I absolutely love the stock F1s. I think that Goodyear/Ford got it right. And the fact that Ford has continued to use F1s for the whole model lifespan is an indicator that Ford agrees.

Well, since I got 43,200 miles(and they weren't 'bare') out of my F1s, who knows? I'd guess there's at least 1/2 the tread left?

Btw, they are 'hard' in compound but 'soft' in ride quality. They do NOT have the traction of the F1 but not much less. On the other side, they have great water-shedding qualities. And, they look .

My truck is mildly modded and i just switched from f1's to the toyo's. They are a great looking tire and will definitely last a lot longer but... traction is horrible.

I was consistently cutting low 1.9s with the goodyears...the Toyos=nothing better than high 2.1's.

And on the street, forget about it. I mean, the truck just blows the toyos away. Although its quite a show and is a hella fun, the dam things just dont stick.

So if you're looking something with decent traction and longer treadlife, I'd stick to the F1's. That's what I'll be going back to.
