Thumbs up 1st time plug change

After using the SEARCH I would have to say overall it was pretty easy (2hr 45min). I was expecting a major pain in the a$$. The right tools make the difference, thats for sure. I started last night around 6:30 and and finished just after 9:00. I ran out of time to put the 4#'r on along with the new custom predator tune.(needless to say thats going on tonight) I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I agree the SEARCH button is a must before starting projects and makes the jobs much less stressful.
I couldve gone postal during the header install if I hadn't done a lot of "reSEARCH" on special tools & tips at least when you run into something you think SO this is the PIA they mentioned, and know the best way to do it and why.

although I havn't gotten the ***** to do my plugs yet, I know where the PIAs are

here's some notes I took when I did my plugs... I am not an exbert I only did mine once. But some of the info may help.

Tools needed are:
Extensions, 7mm, 3/8ths rachet, a swivel, a 1/4" ratchet, 5/8ths spark plug socket, more extensions...

The passanger side was a brease. Even the last one back, the coil pack came right off, and the plugs all came right out. No problems on the passanger side. Mine were all in tight except the 2nd one from the front on the passanger side. It was a little tighter than hand tight, but not as tight as the others. A little to loose for me.

The hardest one was the 3rd one back on the drivers side. I had to use a 7 mil deep socket and an extension to get the coil pack off. Try to get a 7mm swivel socket, that should help you out a lot. I didnt have a 7 mil on a swivel, just a case of beer. You can pick your tools...

Another tip, tape the extension to the socket if you aren't using a snap on tool. I got my socket stuck on the plug on the passenger side. That held me up for a good house because I didnt have a magnet on a pole to get it out.

Hope I helped some.
Good luck, Shane

I'm sure the next time I could possibbly cut that time in 1/2, now that I know where everything is located.

another tool that makes the 3rd on the driver side coil pack easy to remove is a flex head gear wrench with a 1/4 " socket adapter for the wrench and a small 1/4" socket to fit the coil pack retainer screw. this madethe job as easy as the other plugs

I found that using the magnetic pick up tool helped me alot for inserting and removing the bolt that holds the coil pack in place.
