How do I know if my chip is working
I installed my diablo chip last week and I followed the instructions exactly. But the truck does not feel that much different than with just the 4lb pulley. is there some way for me to tell if the chip is making contact correctly.
Did you clean all the varnish off the contacts on the computer prior to installing? Usually if a chip is not making good contact with all the pins you will have noticeable problems. Usually either the truck won’t run, or will stall out etc. Loose connections would also cause that problem.
So if you’re sure the chip is securely in place AND the entire contact surface on the computer where the chip plugs into is properly cleaned then the chip must be working. However that doesn’t mean the program on the chip has been set up correctly.
If would be extremely rare and just about unbelievable to plug an IC chip into a computer that had any physical problems (opens & shorts) and not affect your performance as I stated above.
If you feel you cleaned the contact surface (where the IC pins plug into) of the computer properly and the chip is securely in place and you still don’t feel improvements based on what your were told I would recommend pulling it out and sending it back to who every prepared it for you and have them check to insure the program is correct…
