Cool srt-4

ok, Im just driving down the road in my 01 L when this kid in a srt-4 pulls up beside me and gives me a thumbs down and nails it. I end up behind him at the next light (not possible to get beside him lol!!) and i can hear him revving for the green. Light turns green and within the first 30' i would have rear-ended him if i didnt lett off the gas, so I kind of double pumped the throttle and stayed on his bumper up to about 65 and the approaching sharp turn. I backed off plenty before the turn and this stupid kid didnt hit the brakes until the last possible second and starts to fishtail at about 65-70. Somehow he kept the car from spinning out. Once i get out o the turn he's about 400' in front of me, and of all things turns his hazards on!! pure ricer move if you ask me. I couldnt believe it.

Luke

Don't worry , you did the smart thing, if he didn't get lucky and came out of the turn ok he might have ended up in some lightpole. That's the thing about street racing, some people just don't know when to back off, it's like all or nothing , and all might cost a LIFE. I guess the older you get the smarter you should be , we all learn the easy way or the hard. Any way if you were side by side you would have toasted him.

Re: srt-4

Just roll your eyes, and don't waste the gas.

Or when he's giving you a thumbs down, smile and put your finger in your nose. The "finger" doesn't work on the highways anymore. I give people the "pick"

yea, if he would have been going a mile or to faster he would have hit the curb in the oncoming lane and flipped. I thought i would have a chance to make a smarta$$ comment to him at the next intersection but he quickly turned.

I had to learn the hard way, and it was not fun.
At his age i was doing the same stuff. A reckless and who cares attitude.

I had one of those in front of me in Dallas. Sounded pretty sweet until I realized he had his wastegate setting so slow that during normal shifting all you could here was wooooshhh.

It was irritating.

Car looked good though.

I can’t believe you let him school you in the corners like that. I would have passed him on the outside.

You did the right thing man. It’s never worth increasing the risk level that high for ignorant people.

Lined up to one of them things last time I was at the track in March. New one, i let him get the jump and BYE BYE Baby, I think I made a 12.70 pass on that one, he was so far back.

He came up afterwards,,,"Man that truck is fast" i said THANKS ITS FUN!!

He said "I thought i would give ya a run but I looked up and said man he has nice taillights"

I laughed and told him I liked his car, WHICH I DO since they give the rice a run!!

It was funny

Whew! You're lucky he didn't wreck and hurt someone. A lot of states now hold YOU just as responsible if you're in a contest of speed, and the other numbnutz does something stupid like that. Another dumb law that amortizes stupidity across the entire population and keeps people from having to take responsibility for their actions.

BTW, I feel like the SRT-4 is the embodiment of anti-rice. It's definately focused on performance, not image. It sounds like it had a ricer driver though.

As fun as it may be to beat a little car that is just a wanna be (RICER) you definetly need to just leave it alone and save the gas for something better. Id much rather lose a race to something that is worth racing that blow away some stupid kid in his 4 door honda (unless you are the retard at my work who bet me 50$ his accord, bone stock, could beat my truck, the 50$ definetly covered the gas ).
