Question 13-14 lbs of boost on 4# lower?

Ok, this is freaking me out. I have a 4# lower and at the end of a gear right before it shifts, my Autometer boost gauge hits around 13-13.5 pounds of boost, almost nearing 14 a few times. At first I thought it was the cool weather because I put it on back in March, but now it has warmed up and Im still getting the same boost. It hit 14 again today but it was in the lower 60s. I thought I was to get 12 with a 4 lower? Am I missing something here or will I see 12 when it gets even warmer?

Oh ya, funny thing. I wasen't able to get around to install my chip for a couple of weeks after so I was driveing the L with almost 14 pounds of boost(it was cold then) on stock PCM and plugs. But I had no problem.

My stock 02' (air filter only) shows 11 lbs on my Auto Meter electronic boost gauge.

Ya man, you should see a 4lb lower, 2lb upper, JLP Cool Air,
and a Port Job. That equals MAJOR BOOST

As said, you are not alone,
DON'T WORRY, YOU'LL LIKE IT....

I'd like to add a supercooler one of these days and see what happens.

the ported eaton helps out a ton, regardless who ports it.

One thing to remember is that not all "4#" lowers are the same diameter!

I have the JDM 4# lower and saw between 11 psi in really hot weather/motor up to 14.5 in the cold stuff. Now with the ported blower I've seen lowest of 14 (mid 60s with a very hot motor. (hot lapping)) up to 16.5-17 once in 38 degree temps. I'm sure in the middle of the summer it'll drop some but I don't expect mine to go below 13psi.

Mine is the cageless 4# lower from JDM.

I'm not worried about this, I was just wondering because I was getting more boost that I expected. Its sweet see the boost gauge almost hit 14. I just hope my chip properly burned for it.
